Aubrey Watzek Lodge

Located on Mt. Hood seven miles past Government Camp, Aubrey Watzek Lodge (formerly called White River) sleeps 144 campers and has four kitchens to accommodate several troops. Inner tubes are provided and Mt. Hood Meadows is just two miles away for those wishing to ski. Owned by Cascade Pacific Council.

Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood

Ground was broken for Timberline Lodge on June 11, 1936, at the height of the Great Depression. The Lodge was built entirely by hand, inside and out, by unemployed craftspeople hired by the Federal Works Projects Administration. The initial site survey on Mt. Hood was made in 14 feet of snow during the spring of 1936. Forest Service workers cleared snow from the primitive road that existed between US Highway 26 near Summit Meadows, to Phlox Point, about a half mile below the Lodge. Construction workers lived in tent cities in Summit Meadows, and were trucked daily to the construction site. President Franklin Roosevelt dedicated the Lodge in September, 1937, only 15 months after beginning construction. In 1978, Timberline Lodge was declared a National Historic Landmark.

Hood River, Oregon

Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's newest distinction. Previously known for growing luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood, Hood River has become the destination of choice for wind surfers from around the world. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves.

Camp Baldwin

Camp Baldwin is located in the High Cascade volcano terrain of the Mount Hood National Forest near Dufur, Oregon. The property was purchased with the help of the Baldwin family and encompasses roughly 600 acres east of Mount Hood. Tall evergreens and plentiful wildlife abound among the eighteen campsites, providing plenty of opportunity in the outdoors. The camp began development in 1962 and is owned by the Cascade Pacific Council.
