NEW LEADER SPECIFIC: SEA SCOUTS

(Prerequisite: New Leader Essentials)
This training introduces the new adult ship leader to Sea Scouting by providing basic information needed to successfully operate a ship. This information includes the purpose and mission of Sea Scouting; characteristics of Sea Scout-aged youth; organization and leadership of the ship; and program planning and officer training.

Session Four – Understanding and Protecting Youth
Learn about the characteristics of Sea Scout-age youth and to learn about safety and youth protection issues.


Session Five – Ship Leadership and Organization
Provide participants with an orientation n the leadership and organization required to operate a successful ship.


Session Six – Awards and Recognitions
Describe the Sea Scouting awards and recognitions and emphasize their unique features.


Session Seven – Resources and Program Planning
This session illustrates how to use Sea Scouting literature and resources to plan an exciting ship program.
